I absolutely loved this book. It has completely changed the way I look at discipline. This book is very straightforward and does not sugarcoat the subject. I completely agree with it’s no nonsense view on discipline. After trying several star charts and reward systems to teach my daughter a character skill I was extremely frustrated and always coming up short. I currently am using the ticket system and have seen a huge improvement in my daughter’s behavior. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is having discipline issues with their children, or are just frustrated by all of the positive discipline approaches to raising children. This book is fantastic and offers several examples of straightforward no nonsense answers to discipline and character issues.

I absolutely loved this book. It really made God accessible to me. I was able to relate to Jesus, The Holy Spirit and God. This book was such a quick read….I could not put it down. This book made me realize it’s ok to admit your faults and that I don’t need to be perfect and am still loved by God.. I highly recommend this book to Christians and non-believers.

What a week! I am so happy to say that Barack Obama was just elected on Tuesday to be our next President! Change is in the air in light of our current economic low and president….Bush. I am so hopeful about the future ..especially for Finn and Ella. The last eight years have been embarrassing for us as a country. For the first time in a long time, I am proud to be an American.
Finn also had his surgery on Tuesday…election day and it went great! He recovered quickly by the evening and I am so relieved it’s over.It was hard to see him hooked up to the I.V and groogy. I am so blessed to have my little guy and Ella. Life is good!

My baby is sick today…Finn. He woke up with a fever of 101. I’m thinking it’s probably ear infection #3. Ella had 4 of them around the same age…I guess my kids are prone to them…ugh! I am at work and ! feel awful that I’m not at home with him. Luckily our nanny is fantastic. Ella is at school today…picture day! I’m really tired b/c Ryder is still in Las Vegas. Maybe sleep and I will get reacquainted tonight!

Blog continued,
A lot is going on right now….the country is literally in a depression! Unfortunately, we are close to foreclosing ourselves and are in the hole about 1,500 per month….not good. I am choosing to focus on the positive…the fact that I have 2 amzing children that I adore. The presidential election is less than a month away and I really hope that Obama wins and keeps his promise to help the”middle class”.
Ella is now in preschool and loves it. She is so smart and I marvel at her attention to detail and her amazing memory. She is 3.5 years old and can count to twenty, knows her ABC’s, many sounds, colors and basic shapes. She loves to sing and dance and says she wants to be a rockstar, firegirl, cowgirl, cheerleader, and a doctor…of course I would perfer the latter but know it is all her decision. I do know she will be fantastic at whatever she decides to be and do in life.
Oh my Finn, he is very verbal, sweet and has a huge temper! He is determined and wants to do everything not only that his sister does but also his mother too. He is a perfectionist and is always trying something new daily. He is amazing and it’s hard to believe all that he has been through ( preemie, NICU, blood transfussion, hernia surgery etc) he is so resilient and persistent.
ok I’m going home now …
peace out,

My first blog entry,
Well Today my Finn is 15 months old …I can’t believe it! He is a character! He is the fastest crawler I have ever seen and stands up and sits down but seems very disinterested in actually walking…kinda funny but truthfully I’m starting to worry a litlle. Today was a long teaching day and I’m feeling exhausted. Ryder is out of town and I’m not getting a lot of sleep these days. Finn is also teething and Ella’s afraid of the dark. Ella has a very creative imagination and makes up very elaborate stories about monsters, dragons etc.
